Ihsane Kassem, the first PhD student to graduate from UM6P CEDoc

<p>Ihsane Kassem, PhD student at Materials Science, Energy and Nanoengineering Department, defended her doctoral thesis on Tuesday, March 14<sup>th</sup>, 2023, at Mohammed VI Polytechnic University. Ihsane has the privilege of being the first ever PhD student graduated from UM6P-CEDoc. She worked on a multidisciplinary project entitled ยซ Cellulose based biodegradable and waterborne coating formulations for slow-release fertilizers with enhanced nutrients use and agronomic efficiencies ยป, under the supervision of Pr. Mounir El Achaby and Dr. El-Houssaine Ablouh within Polymers &amp; Composites Team.</p>

<p>Through this relevant project, Dr. Ihsane and the team could develop advanced category of fertilizers produced by coating technology at lab scale using eco-friendly materials. The objective of designing such new fertilizers is to bring environmental, agronomic, and social benefits over the traditional fertilizers for sustainable agriculture practices.&nbsp;</p>
